Why the change?
Local speech and language models have improved substantially in both quality and efficiency. Stenox now uses those advances to provide a fast local-first experience without operating a paid managed model service.Local-first defaults
During onboarding, Stenox downloads and loads the required local models before your first recording. An internet connection is needed for that initial download; local use can then continue without sending your audio or text to Stenox.
Existing receipts from purchases made before July 17, 2026 remain available through the legacy billing portal on the Stenox website. A previous purchase or license key is not required to use version 1.0.0 or later.
